Firmly believing in the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created the cheerful Hoptimist movement in the late 1960s. The aim was to design a figurine that would constantly remind people of the importance of staying positive and optimistic. Though the 1960s are often referred to as "the happy sixties," this decade was marked by disruptive events. That's why the joy radiating from Ehrenreich's design was a welcome sight during a rather turbulent time. Bimble and Bumble are the very first Hoptimists created by the designer: a girl dressed in a joyful dress with smiling eyes and an attentive boy with a stick on his head. Today, the joyful Hoptimists are part of Danish design history and spread joy all over the world. The figurines are available in four different sizes and in a wide selection of colours that radiate optimism, good cheer, and joy. There is a Hoptimist for every occasion and every person.
