Animals evoke something special in each of us. A joy that we share with one another. That’s why the big family of happy Hoptimists also includes adorable animals. Firmly convinced of the power of a smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created the joyful Hoptimist movement in the late 60s. The goal was to design a figurine that would continuously remind us of the importance of staying positive and optimistic. Although the 60s are often called "the happy sixties," this decade was marked by unsettling events. Therefore, the joy spread by Ehrenreich's design was welcome during what was a rather turbulent period.
