The rug Liberal instantly adds warmth and atmosphere to your living area. The rug comes from the collection of the Dutch interior decoration brand BePureHome and features a blend of natural colours in the combined fabric of natural fibres: jute and cotton. The jute gives the rug a carefree look, while the cotton ensures a comfortable feel – the best combination in our opinion!

The material

Jute is a plant-based material. Jute fibres are extracted from the pith of the stems, then washed, dried, oiled, and spun. The jute items in our collections are coarsely woven to achieve a robust appearance. Jute is quite stiff but can be dyed very well as the pigments adhere perfectly to the coarse fibres.

Care

Due to its plant origin, jute cannot be machine washed. Clean the jute item using a slightly damp soft-bristled brush. If the jute item has a coarsely woven pattern, it is recommended to clean the material with a soft cloth, as the material can quickly 'fray' or curl when subjected to rough handling. It is not recommended to re-treat the jute item. Jute is 100% biodegradable, making it a very sustainable material.
